Our Facility
Howlers Dog Sports is a private facility located on 86-acres in gorgeous Grey County allowing for local K9 enthusiasts and clients to enjoy their dog sports without driving for hours. The facility was developed by long-time breeders and owner handlers Maura Reilly and Stephen Olschewski under the Gatehouse prefix.

Covid-19 Protocols
We ask that all persons who wish to visit Howlers Dog Sports must be double-vaccinated, with proof of vaccination. All persons must maintain a 2-metre distance from one another and wear a mask at all times.

Kennel Attendant
Part-time Flexible Positions are available for multiple shifts. Starting wage $17.00 per hour
Are you ready to join a progressive dog sports team? Howlers Dog Sports is looking for Kennel Attendant(s). We are looking for passionate dog lovers to join our team. In this role you will provide services to our clients in a safe, clean modern facility. You demonstrate your love of dogs and lead a dog centric lifestyle. You are dependable and have common sense. You are reliable and willing to work evenings and weekends.
You will be responsible to provide assistance to the trainer for board and train guests, private lessons and in group sessions. You will be expected to maintain, clean, exercise and monitor kennel and daycare guests. You must enjoy working with clients, demonstrate leadership and willing to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You can work with minimal supervision and able to sell products and services.
This rewarding position is for the person(s) who are dependable, patient, and above all professional. Facility hours are 7am to 7pm and there is shift flexibility available.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Interact professionally with clients and potential clients in a supportive professional manner, conduct evaluations

Attend and provide a positive supportive training experience for clients and their dogs
-
Attend training sessions for self advancement and development
-
Assist/instruct training classes, attend to daycare and kennel duties as assigned, including attendance, distribution of materials and maintain appropriate records, provide homework and follow-up.

Enjoy working in a team environment, able to build and maintain positive relationships and work cohesively with other training members and communicate training challenges or client questions or concerns appropriately

Supervise dogs in a dog daycare and kennel environment.

Update POS system and training logs, conduct inventory, order products
-
Ensure facility, training fields and property is tidy and clean.

Feed, care and exercise kennel guests
-
Examine all guests to ensure good health and maintain health and behaviour records as directed
-
Provide basic medical care for dogs, give medication as prescribed

Follow and apply facility and provincial and/or federal health guidance and regulations
Physical Requirements:
-
Position requires candidate to be both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
-
Majority of day will be spent standing, walking and bending during all types of weather conditions

Able to lift 60+ pounds
-
Candidate will be constantly bent over for cleaning, kneeling on floor and return to standing positions often

Candidate will be physically active entire shift
Requirements:

Report to facility operations manager

Able to work all shifts (weekends, holidays, evenings). Limited schedule flexibility is available

Collaborate with facility operations manager to coordinate shifts and responsibilities

Work with small and large dogs
-
Work around animal hair, dander, fluids and feces

You are Dependable. You understand the importance of working with dogs and the responsibility you have to them. Attendance is critical

You understand that dogs can be difficult, obstinate and unruly. You are patient and calm under pressure

You possess a strong work ethic. You take pride in your work, are willing to learn and develop

You are willing to attend paid training at an alternate location
Qualifications:

Possess computer competency including email.

Desire to learn, develop and a willingness to adapt to new training techniques and ideas

Positive attitude; upbeat and enthusiastic

Excellent communication skills

Must have a love for dogs and a keen sense for animal safety
Shifts we are seeking coverage for the following shifts:
Shift A - 7am-11am
Shift B – 11am – 3pm
Shift C – 3pm – 7pm
Some evenings and weekends will be required with notice
